Privacy policy

We build a consent tool, so we hold ourselves to a higher bar: this website does not track you. No analytics, no advertising, no social media plugins, no fonts or scripts from anyone else's servers.

In short

  • No tracking or analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics, tag manager, pixel or fingerprinting.
  • No third-party requests. Every file on this site, including the fonts, is served from our own server. Your browser does not contact Google, a CDN or any other third party when you visit.
  • One necessary cookie, only after you choose. Our own consent banner stores your choice in a first-party cookie. That is the only cookie.
  • Server logs without IP addresses. Our web server is configured not to log your IP address.

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Hosting and server logs

This website is a set of static files served by our web server, hosted by [hosting provider, location of the data centre]. To deliver a page, the server necessarily processes your IP address for the duration of the connection.

Our access log records only the time, the requested path, the response status and size. It does not record IP addresses, referrers or user agents. Logs are deleted after [retention period, e.g. 14 days]. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating a secure and working website.

Cookies and local storage

This site sets no tracking or marketing cookies. It stores the following, all first-party:

  • zeno_consent (cookie, strictly necessary): your choice in our consent banner, with a random receipt id, timestamp and expiry. Set when you make a choice; kept for [expiry, e.g. 180 days].
  • zcc-theme (local storage): your light or dark theme, only if you use the theme switch. It never leaves your browser.

The cookie declaration below is rendered by our consent banner from its published configuration.

We use our own product, ZenoCookieConsent, on this site. It is loaded from consent.citiumsoftware.com, a server operated by Citium Software itself (not a third party), hosted by [hosting provider and location].

When you make a choice, a consent receipt is stored so that we can demonstrate consent as required by Art. 7(1) GDPR. It contains: the random receipt id, your choice per category, the time, the banner revision, consent version and language, the page address without query string, your browser's user agent, and a keyed hash of your truncated IP address (the full IP address is not stored). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7(1) GDPR. Receipts are kept for [retention period].

Contacting us

If you email us, we process your address and message to answer you, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR, and delete them when they are no longer needed, subject to statutory retention periods.

Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future, using the cookie settings button. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example [competent supervisory authority].
